What's Happening with the Building?

Hip Hip Hooray!!! Services are scheduled for this weekend inside at JCM.

Good News :)

We can be in the building...the light and airy building will be a place we all want to come and pray, celebrate, and socialize. We can't wait for you to see it.

We have new energy efficient toilets in both restrooms...which will help us save water.

Stay tuned for a chair dedication to order new chairs that are easy to clean and are eco-friendly. Don't worry. the nameplates on the current chairs will be put onto a plaque in the synagogue.

Bad News :(

Things aren't quite done in the building. There is still lots of construction happening during the day, but the building can be used when needed.

The Tattooist of Auschwitz: A Novel by Heather Morris

In April 1942, Lale Sokolov, a Slovakian Jew, is forcibly transported to the concentration camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau. When his captors discover that he speaks several languages, he is put to work as a Tätowierer (the German word for tattooist), tasked with permanently marking his fellow prisoners. Risking his own life, he uses his privileged position to exchange jewels and money from murdered Jews for food to keep his fellow prisoners alive. One day in July 1942, Lale, prisoner 32407, comforts a trembling young woman waiting in line to have the number 34902 tattooed onto her arm. Her name is Gita, and in that first encounter, Lale vows to somehow survive the camp and marry her.
