Bio Rabbi Liat Yardeni – 

Rabbi Liat Yardeni began her army career in the Israel Defense Forces, where she served as a second lieutenant in the elite military intelligence unit 8200 overseeing over 950 soldiers. Born and raised in Jerusalem by a secular Israeli father and a Modern Orthodox American mother, she attended an all girls Orthodox Yeshiva high school in Jerusalem, which complimented the ardent Zionist home in which she was raised.

Rabbi Yardeni earned a BA in psychology from UCLA, a Master's Degree in Education, and a second Master's Degree in Talmud and Rabbinic Studies. In 2006, she received her Rabbinic Ordination and a Master's of Hebrew Letters. She worked as a Rabbi and Rabbi/Educator for the past 15 years in Los Angeles in various Temples and day schools, as well as at Camp Ramah in Ojai, CA. 

Rabbi Yardeni is an author of a Judaica curriculum; “Israel Then, Now, and Forever”, an experiential Israel curriculum for campers, and she is in the process of writing a book about her father’s life as an Israeli hero. Rabbi Yardeni innovative educational and spiritual programs have touched the lives of hundreds of adults and young children, as well as their families.  Her groundbreaking programs and services have successfully combined traditional Jewish prayer, modern music, and interactive Torah messages to inspire a new generation of Jews. Her real world experiences have energized Jewish families and inspired them to live Jewish lives and love the State of Israel.

Rabbi Yardeni has lectured in the US and Israel in various lectures such as:

Rabbi Yardeni’s aim was always to provide adults and students with a deep, transformative connection to Israel, and build stronger Jewish identity. She is a strong believer in Theodor Herzl statement, “If you will it, it is no dream.” Promoting Israel and the Israel Air Force Center Foundation is the main driving force in her life.

Rabbi Yardeni is married to Mark Funk, a CFO, and together they have two children; a daughter, Karen Or (a UCLA student) and a son, Jonathan Tzvili, (Yoni) a high school senior.
